Canada

Canada is where heli skiing began, and for many this is where they return year after year. Why? The simple answer is that the heli skiing in Canada is not just very good but also extremely reliable. By this we mean that the snow conditions are normally powder, the weather reasonable and the heli ski operations generally very well run and well organised. While the Canadian experience may not be for everyone, when you take all the different variables that go into making a first class heli ski experience, it is one of the 'safer bets'.

Another distinguishing factor about heli skiing in Canada is the huge amount of choice at your disposal. In fact, there are now over twenty five different heli ski lodges in British Columbia alone - a number that has increased quickly in recent years.

In selecting our portfolio of Canadian heli skiing operations we kept several key things in mind. We wanted to: have something appealing for every level of skier and snowboarder; stay clear of commercial operations that 'farm' snow; emphasize operations that keep things personal and intimate not treating heli skiers like items on a factory conveyor belt; and last but not least to focus on operations with smaller groups and/or fewer groups sharing the helicopter...What all this translates to is the best possible Canadian heliski adventure. We are firmly of the belief that heli skiing should be about escaping the crowds and enjoying the wilderness experience and NOT turning up in the middle of nowhere to find that sixty other people are charging round the same bit of mountain or that you are skiing / riding next to or on top of the tracks that someone laid last week.

There is a common misconception that all heli ski operations in Canada are more or less the same. Sure, some do have their similarities but in general, there are many differences. This might range from significant climatic differences to differences in the type of terrain that is actually accessed. For example, some operations offer almost exclusively tree skiing, others mainly high alpine runs...or the difference might be as subtle as a difference in style of operation - maybe a small point but one that can make a huge difference to the enjoyment of your trip. If you speak to individual operations they do all have one thing in common. They all claim to be the best! - And this is where we come in.

We have been there and done the research for you and take an enormous amount of pride in telling you exactly how it is and what you should expect. Every destination we offer is excellent for certain reasons but they are not all excellent for everything. We tell you about the good as well as the not so good and let you decide based on the factors that are important to you. Maybe having good steep, alpine descents is more important to you than cruising through the trees. Or, maybe being massaged senseless in a fancy lodge in front of the fire is what takes your fancy. Our job is to tell you the facts and let you decide. And remember, we will never charge you more than booking direct with a lodge.

Awesome weather, excellent skiing, great company, good food, plenty of Corona at the bar, what more do you need. Was epic - thnxs.
