The Heliskiing

Mica Heli Guides offer a fantastic variety of terrain, and an abundance of superior quality, dry powder that has made the Monahsee Mountains world-famous. With a total skiable area of over one million acres on the west side of the spectacular Rocky Mountains, there are runs suitable for a wide range of skier and rider, from wide open mellow glacial runs and open bowls to steep couloirs and trees.

Positioned at 1,200 metres on the mountain side it is very seldom that days are lost to the valley fog that plagues other heli ski operations in the area. Small, tight groups of only four skiers / boarders make for a very flexible and exclusve programme.

Lodging

Mica Heliskiing's lodge is unquestionably one of the most dramatically situated heli ski lodges in Canada. Accessible only by helicopter the main lodge and the recently constructed private chalet are perched at 1,200 metres and overlooking the Monashee, Selkirk and Rocky Mountains.

The private chalet has four extra large deluxe rooms (each with its own fireplace) and a new hot tub. The main heli ski lodge has seven bedrooms with full baths and sleeps up to twelve guests. It was built in summer 2002 of log construction with a river stone fireplace, heated tiled or carpeted floors, an outdoor hot tub, huge windows, large dining and relaxing areas, ski shop, retail store and spectacular views from every suite.

As remote as the lodges may be, they are as comfortable as a luxury home, with self-generated power, heated stone floors, fireplaces, hot tubs, massage, telephone, wireless internet, Satellite TV, radio phone and of course a top chef preparing fabulous meals.

Helicopters & Safety

A-Star B2 helicopters are chartered from Arrow Helicopters a locally based helicopter company owned and operated by Chief Pilot, Matthew Callaghan.

Helicopters are maintained to standards that meet or exceed Ministry of Transport regulations, and are systematically inspected on a daily basis.

The safety standards at Mica Heliskiing are second to none. Without exception, all heli ski guides are seasoned professionals who have passed a series of comprehensive exams to qualify them as members of the A.C.M.G and the U.I.A.G.M., the recognised Canadian and International Mountain Guide Associations.

Each guide takes part in regular and ongoing refresher courses and training sessions including hazard recognition and management and emergency response.

Revelstoke Combo

Warm up on the uncroweded slopes of Revelstoke Mounatin Resort before heading deep into the Monashees for the heli ski adventure of a life time.

Trips can be customised to include between three and seven days heli skiing and any number of days in Revelstoke. With very limited availability at Mica Heliskiing, early booking is essential.

All of our Deep December packages include an unlimited amount heli skiing...All you need to do is concentrate on coming up for air or clearing your snorkel.
