The base for TLH Heliskiing is Tyax Mountain Lake Resort, on the shores of the magical Tyaughton Lake, approximately 125 miles (200 km) north of Vancouver, British Columbia. Transfers to Tyax Mountain Lake Resort are provided by courtesy bus from Vancouver, Whistler, Kelowna or Kamloops. Helicopter transfers from Vancouver or Whistler can also be arranged on request.

The Heli skiing / Heli boarding

Consistently reliable weather and snow conditions, open bowls, glaciers that stretch forever and some excellent tree runs make for a heli ski experience of the highest quality. One of the major advantages that TLH Heliskiing has over other operations in Canada is that they never heli ski with more than one group per helicopter. This means more heli skiing with a huge amount of flexibility, zero waiting time between runs and very few people tracking up the mountain. Like most heli ski operations in Canada the average run length is a modest but respectable 700 - 800 vertical metres

Accommodation & Facilities

On the shores of Tyaughton Lake with views of the surrounding peaks and tucked away amongst towering trees are TLH's luxury log chalets and its spectacular main lodge, which has undergone major renovation and improvement work last season. After a hard day's heli skiing you can relax around the massive stone fireplace, enjoy a drink at the bar, play pool and darts in the lounge or re-live your day heli skiing on video while your chefs prepare your dinner. On the other hand you might want to head straight for the trained hands of the resident masseuse, sit back in the sauna or simply relax in the outdoor Jacuzzi with a cold beer and views of the lake and mountains. If conditions are unfavourable for heli skiing you can try snowmobiling, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and ice fishing or simply enjoy a leisurely walk on one of the nearby trails.

Helicopters & Safety

The main machines used at TLH Heliskiing are the 12 passenger (10 skiers plus 2 guides), jet powered Bell 212 helicopter or 'Huey' as it was known in Vietnam. Over the years this has proved to be one of the safest and most reliable helicopters and it is the most commonly used helicopter in the Canadian heli ski industry.

For the smaller, more exclusive private groups the A-Star 350 B2 and Bell 407 are used.

Helicopters, pilots and engineers are supplied by Wildcat Helicopters Inc. - one of the most reputable helicopter companies in western Canada. Without exception, the helicopters are immaculately maintained by a team of on-site mechanics and are flown by pilots with many years of mountain flying and heli skiing experience.

The safety standards at TLH Heliskiing are second to none and this is reflected in their immaculate safety record. Guides are seasoned professionals who have undergone extensive training and passed a series of comprehensive exams to qualify them as members of the A.C.M.G and/or the U.I.A.G.M, the recognised Canadian and International Mountain Guide Associations. TLH Heliskiing is also a member of "HELICAT Canada", which sets strict safety standards for operating a heli skiing area.

Before and throughout the season, guides are continuously monitoring the weather and snow stability in an effort to minimise hazards and maximise your enjoyment.

TLH HELI SKIING PRICES AND PACKAGES - 2011

Heli skiing weeks run from Friday to Friday with departure from your home country on Thursday.
Rates are in Canadian dollars and subject to 6% HST for non-Canadian citizens.

Please note that on the last day of all packages, heli skiing will finish at lunch time to allow for transfers back to either Whistler or Vancouver.

Whistler Combined Heli Skiing Packages

Spending three or four days in Whistler before your heliski adventure is the perfect way to find your ski legs and alleviate the effects of jet lag. Based on the feedback from our guests.

Prices start at at CAD $5,000 for three days in Whistler followed by four days heli skiing. Please contact us for further details.

• Return transfers from Vancouver to Whistler.
• Three or four nights accommodation in Whistler (double occupancy).
• Transfer from Whistler to TLH Heliskiing.
• Three or four nights accommodation at Tyax Mountain Lake Resort including all meals.

PRIVATE heli skiing packages (Small group heli skiing)

With a small but powerful Bell 407 or A-Star 350 B2 helicopter for the exclusive use of your group you will have the luxury of 100% flexibility to ski or snowboard entirely at your own pace and without any concern for others. The situation is particularly advantageous to groups who are of a very high standard and those who are less confident in their ability.

PRICES AND PACKAGES:

Private groups of four heli skiers (minimum number) have exclusive use of their own helicopter and ski as one rotation.

Heli skiing not enough... well how about an upgrade?

Helicopter Transfers

Arrive in style to start your heliskiing adventure and avoid the road transfer.
Six hours from Vancouver becomes one hour, and four hours from Whistler becomes ½ hour.

Helicopter transfers are weather dependent and based on availability and a minimum number of guests.

Chalet Upgrade

An upgrade to TLH's newly renovated six-bedroom chalet is available on request. This is perfect for groups and can sleep up to ten people in an assortment of double and single rooms. All beds are queen sized and there are two in each of the double rooms. The chalet features two lounges, a full kitchen and dining area, balcony and a private Jacuzzi. Exceptional meals are prepared on-site by your own private chef.
