Heli Skiing in South America
For those based in the northern hemisphere, heli skiing in Chile and Patagonia presents a perfect opportunity to relieve wintery withdrawal symptoms or perhaps to have a pre-season warm up for winter in the north. Either way there is no doubt, aside from being a real adventure, that heli skiing in Chile and Patagonia is world class.
Being a relatively new concept, few people currently heli ski in South America and as a result there is more of an expedition come exploratory feel to the whole experience, especially when compared to what you might find at more popular destinations in Canada.
We have two main programmes on offer in South America. The first is heli skiing in Chile, near the capital of Santiago. The operation is modelled closely on the best of breed Canadian heli ski outfits, ie lodge based, very efficient and with access to a huge terrain with possibilities of first descents. In reality it represents the only heli skiing operator in South America which truly provides world class destination heli skiing.
The second trip we offer is truly unique and something that only a select few have ever been lucky enough to experience. Further south in the heart of Patagonia, this is a genuine expedition-style heliski trip through some of the most remote and mountainous areas in the world. Starting in Bariloche and finishing in the Cerro Tore / Fitzroy area of Patagonia, this heli ski 'safari' covers a distance of some 1,400 km, travelling through an untamed land of gauchos, rivers, lakes and mountains, skiing uncharted terrain, and staying in rustic Estancias with friendly relaxed service, good food and good wine. This is Adventure wilderness heli skiing at its finest!
